Giving Thanks

Hello Friends...

I've come to my PC so many times to write my blog this week and life gets in the way...so much has been going on!

My husband spent the night in the ER last weekend because of a kidney stone. To most people, this may seem like a painful but temporary set-back, but to Bill it has major consequences. He was born with one kidney, so when the plumbing backs up, the ER is the place to go. I am happy to report that he went home last Sunday and all is well. My father (95 years young), had a contagious UTI for the last 27 days. He was finally cleared yesterday to spend the day with us for Thanksgiving. Our dog has been diagnosed with Lymphoma and lost the ability to use his hind leg. He has been my constant companion for 16 years and when the vet gave me the news, I became very sad. With his anti-inflammatory prescribed medication, he has regained the use of his hind leg, however, he is still wobbly and falls down quite a bit.

Even though these events have happened to our family these past weeks, I am reminded to be thankful for all that life has given me. I have a wonderful husband of 28 years who I adore and who gave me my two beautiful grown children. I am lucky to still have both my mom and dad in my life and be able to speak with them everyday. And I am grateful for the unconditional love of my beautiful dog for the past 16 years. To top things off,  I have the most wonderful family and friends a girl could ask for. For all of the above I am thankful.

When sitting down at the dinner table on Thanksgiving, make sure you take inventory of the important things in your life and be grateful for all the big and little things that have shaped you for who you are today. Happy Thanksgiving!

I want to share a card I made for the Thanksgiving holiday. The stamps used are by Close to My Heart, paper by DCWV, Martha Stewart and SU punches, clear embossing powder over Tsuneiko Brilliance and Tim Holtz Distress ink pads. Hope you all enjoy!
